Like Grapefruit

I wonder if the ground has taken me whole
Down into the dark where insects they reign
How the shadows drag along the walls and I’ve pleaded with day to stay awake
And I’m wide awake at night
Wide awake with much to say
The days blend into each other
Everyday is the same
Except that you’re standing on my neck and you are smiling like you did when we first met
